The Model Y has a lot of glass, and in the Bay Area that glass heats the cabin. Ceramic tint cuts the heat without blocking your phone, GPS or toll tag.
Why ceramic for a Model Y
- LLumar lists Pinnacle and Stratos as no signal interference films.
- Every LLumar FormulaOne film blocks over 99% of UV, which helps protect your skin and interior.
- Ceramic films reject much more infrared heat than a basic dyed film.
LLumar heat numbers at a 35% shade
| Pinnacle | Stratos | |
|---|---|---|
| Total solar energy rejected | 55% | 58% |
| Infrared energy rejected | 61% | 67% |
| UV blocked | over 99% | over 99% |

The glass roof
The Model Y roof is factory-darkened, but dark glass still lets infrared heat through — that is the heat you feel on your head on a sunny drive. Ceramic film on the roof cuts it. We match the film and shade to the roof glass instead of defaulting to the darkest option.
Model Y price at 68 Auto Film
LLumar Pinnacle ceramic tint for a Model Y is $599 for the side windows and rear windows, out the door (tax included). Classic and Stratos are priced by text. Our window tint film carries a LLumar lifetime film warranty. Text us if you want a different shade or coverage.
Setups owners actually pick
- Heat control with a factory look: a light ceramic shade, or AirBlue 80, all around — including the roof.
- Balanced privacy: darker ceramic on the rear windows and back glass, with the front windows kept at a legal light shade.
- Maximum privacy: the darkest shade on the rear glass. California keeps the front windows light either way.
What California allows
- Front side windows: at least 70% light transmission, glass plus film.
- Windshield: tint on the top 4 inches only.
- Rear side windows and rear window: any darkness if the car has both side mirrors, which a Model Y does.
